Thirty-Five-Year-Old Mother and Daughter Spend First & Last Vacation Together
Dream vacation is made a reality by the only national dream-granting organization
Santa Barbara, Calif.—Dream Foundation will fulfill Destiny Pritchett’s final Dream by providing a four-night stay in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., so that she and her daughter, Clowie, can spend time enjoying the beautiful, open wilderness of the Smokey Mountains. Destiny, from Cedar Grove, Tenn., tells Dream Foundation that she has never been on vacation and has always dreamed of seeing the mountains. Destiny dreams of a vacation that she and her 15-year-old daughter can enjoy together away from the daily reminder of her illness.
“Clowie has taken care of me since day one – cooking for me and making sure I take my medication,” Destiny says about her daughter. “She even took a semester off of school to help take care of me.”
Destiny hopes that a mother-daughter vacation will help to create memories that her daughter will remember and embrace once she is gone. Her travel itinerary as well as details of her Dream was hand-delivered at her home in Cedar Grove, Tenn., on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, by employees of Genentech—a long-time Dream Foundation corporate partner.
